Barça's philosophy. Is it the only good thing right now?

Luis Suarez has completed his move to Barcelona despite a strong aversion from majority of Barca fans. Nobody anticipated this transfer. There are two major aspects regarding this transfer. Firstly, Luis Suarez transfer fees is somewhere close to £70m, as reported by sky sports, which is huge. Secondly, Luis Suarez's bite in the world cup wasn't the first mistake he'd committed in his career. It wasn't even second time, but it was third time. The way he reacted after the bite, irked every football fan, more than the bite itself.
The recent transfer perfectly demonstrates the things board are ready to do, to save their ass. Andoni Zubizarreta even claimed publicly that, "Luis Suarez is HUMBLE". Neymar's transfer defamed the club to maximum extent last year. There was so much mess that, Rosell resigned as the president of FC Barcelona following the lawsuit over the transfer of Neymar. Before I get over that incident, we are here, signing Luis Suarez for absurd amount after his infamous third bite on Chiellini. Expect all hatred from England towards Barça now as Suarez is here. Let's get it straight, Barça is a top,top club. There are equal amount of haters as there are fans.Millions of people are waiting to defame the club and are looking for a slightest of opportunity. We can expect the opposition to provoke Luis Suarez in every manner possible. But I just hope that he keeps his cool now and save the club from another embarrassment.
In the other news, Johan Cruyff has slammed Barcelona over the transfer of Luis Suarez to Barcelona. Cruyff stated that, "I am happy that Germany won the World Cup. They are playing the kind of football that Barcelona are distancing themselves from".
"I don't know how they plan to play free-flowing attacking football with Messi, Neymar and Suarez in one team. They are all players who rely on their individual actions.
"Barcelona choose for individualism rather than a team playing good football. The style of play they developed under Frank Rijkaard and Pep Guardiola is being abandoned."
I disagree with Johan Cruyff here. I feel that the only good thing left now is our style. Keeping possession, tiki-taka, Attack. Call whatever you want. Barça have emphasized on ameliorating attack rather than fixing the defense. We will not abandon our philosophy at any cost. So, in pure football wise, Luis Suarez transfer makes perfect sense. If you have front 3 of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi, the team will have lot more options to break the bus, to have plan B, plan C. Just go back to 2011-12. We had injured Villa, Alexis had just joined us and Pedro alongside Lionel Messi. Throughout the season we saw that Lionel Messi was the lone striker who scored hell lot of goals. Pedro and Alexis Sanchez created space for Messi. Messi just needed the little space to show his magic. At the end of the year, Messi had record 91 goals. The feat, which can be achieved by certain Lionel Messi. But just look at the silverware Barça managed to win that season. During 2011-12, Barça had won Copa Del Rey. Why?. Because, as the time passed, teams figured out the way Barça play. The opposition manager would have told before the match, "Hey fellas, let them do tiki-taka stuff. Just look out for Messi. We shut down Messi, we shut down Barça". Many teams tried to shut him down, few succeeded, many didn't. The few who succeeded played Barça in the later stages of the season. By then, fatigue also had a role to play. To sum it up, even though Lionel Messi had a record goalscoring spree during that season. Barça, as a team lost because they depended more on an individual.
What Luis Enrique is trying to do?
I think Luis Enrique is following the 2008-09 model when we had Henry, Eto'o and Messi upfront. At the end of the season.
Messi-38 goals
Eto'o-36 goals
Henry-26 goals.
Can you see it? More the no.of goal scorers, more silverware your team will win. Why? Because the point of attack will not be single dimensional. In 2011-12, there was a standard template. Iniesta and Xavi would look for Messi most of the time. If they failed to pass the ball to him, they would look out, wide for Alexis Sanchez or Pedro. Pedro and Sanchez would run on their respective flank(with the ball of course), cut in, look out for Messi. Pass to Messi. Repeat the above sequence till Messi scores. Even though we don't have the divine front three. Barça are great on the paper right now. With Neymar on the left, Messi centre and Suarez on the right will be deadly trio. Lucho will have lot of options next season. Suarez can play ahead of Messi and create space for Messi. There are lot of options. This is the best transfer right now in pure football wise(On paper), but as with Barça, it's not just about football.
What about defender? Don't we need one?
I think Mathieu's deal will be confirmed in couple of days. Zubizarreta had told that "Two CB's will come". One of them will be Mathieu IMO. There is a famous dialogue in football which I have used umpteen times and I am going to use it again "Offense sells tickets, defense wins you championships" Barça 2010-11 did both at very high level. Sadly, after 2010-11 we cannot boast about defense as much as offense. It's high time we fix the defense. We will have to wait and see as who will join us in the defense, this season alongside Pique and Mascherano.
In the past couple of years, we have suffered a lot due to this corrupt board. The only good thing left now is our philosophy, to attack, to play for the fans. I just hope that Suarez deal will bring some memories of the old. Can't wait for the season to start.
