Phew. What an exciting match. As we all know Atletico Madrid are tough nut to crack. Their organisation, pressing and passion to win the game is second to none. We failed to win against them in last 6 encounters. The last one was bitter to swallow as Atletico Madrid won the league at Camp Nou. The stage was set for a revenge and our boys had geared up for the challenge. It was always going to be tough, but it wasn't impossible. Our first half performance alone was suffice to demonstrate how deadly Barca can be when all the players are playing at the same frequency. 3-1 wouldn't justify for the dominance we showed yesterday against a world class Atletico Madrid.

Many fans are unanimous in their claim that this was the best match Barca played since the 4-0 thrashing of AC Milan. I can hardly disagree with that. First half was reminiscent of 2011's performance. We thoroughly outclassed them in all departments and we should have been 3-0 up at halftime had our strikers  converted their chances. Messi was magnificent today.When Messi is playing at that level none of the tactics/organisation works for opposition. Simeone is a great tactician, but even he couldn't devise the necessary tactics to stop Messi.  It was not just Messi, the whole team played as it should. Neymar had a cracking game. He toyed with Atletico Madrid, stifled their right back repeatedly.Suarez brought the required variety to our play and his fierce nature  helped us to combat Atletico Madrid.  Pique was absolute beast in the defense and the list goes on.

 When we play like that, goals are inevitable. Neymar, Suarez and Messi all got on the score sheet. It was a night to remember. These three points are worth more than that because we have just won against the champions. As I have said numerous times, league is a marathon and we have to be consistent every week to be the league champions. Yesterday's performance sent a strong message to our rivals out there. Watch out for FC Barcelona.
