The Derby lived up to its expectations. The match was pretty intense, with both sides looking to pressurize the opponents. Espanyol didn't park the bus all the time, they attacked Barca higher up the pitch and destabilized our midfield. Messi was heavily marked and had a dull game according to his High standards, but this game will be remembered for Neymar's misses. He missed 2,3 easy chances to put Barca ahead, Espanyol missed some easy chances too. It should have been either 1-1 or 2-2 at HT, but it was 0-0.
Even in the second half nothing significant happened. We were struggling to create proper chances. I recommend people, who wants to see the tactical side of the game to download and watch this game. It was a fine tactical plan by the Espanyol coach and their players executed it pretty well. It was a shame to see such a fascinating game to be decided by a penalty. Anyway, Messi scored another goal from the spot. After we went ahead, Espanyol started to attack and left much space at the back. One such incident led to the dismissal of Espanyol goal keeper Kiko Casilla, who was sent off for handling the ball outside the 18 yard box. At the end, we got all the three points, three important points.
