Barcelona will look to extend their winning streak against rivals, Atletico Madrid, when they visit Vicente Calderon for the third league match of the season.

Back in May, a brilliant Messi's goal helped Barcelona to clinch their 23rd spanish title who went on to complete a historic treble. 



Barcelona will miss several key players ahead of the clash. Dani Alves and Pique are out due to injury and suspension respectively. Bravo will also be out of action for three weeks after suffering a strain in his left muscle .  Neymar and Jordi Alba will resume again,  Sergi Roberto will continue to play as a right back in the absence of Dani Alves. Thomas Vermaelen, who has been impressive in the last two league matches will start the match at the center back position alongside Javier Mascherano.

Atletico Madrid, who failed to win any silverware last season have bolstered their squad in the summer. A win against Barcelona will help them to re-affirm as title contenders. Atletico's start to the season has been impressive and look favorites for the today's clash. Barcelona, on the other hand have just managed to score 2 goals in the last 2 games . For Barcelona, this trip might have come too early in the season.


However, A win/loss/draw means nothing so early in the season as the seasons are decided in May. So it's advisable for both set of fans to not look to much into the today's result.
